CEO, Rick Michel

Rick Michel

Rick Michel, who co-founded Transtreme in 2007, is a Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner. He trained at the world-renowned Texas Medical Center in Houston, and received his Masters Degree at the University of Alabama Medical Center, where he conducted research in the areas of cardiovascular disease and exercise physiology.

During several years of clinical practice in Texas and California, Rick developed and implemented several successful disease management and care coordination programs. In the years following, he led high-profile brands and teams in the pharmaceutical sector, both domestically and in China. Rick has also served as Vice-President for Pacific Cardiovascular Associates in Orange County, California, where he recognized many of the inefficiencies in medical imaging that led to the creation of Transtreme.

As an expert in Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Rick has also built EMR platforms, as well as implemented successful systems for both community hospitals as well as large Regional healthcare systems including the Hawaii Health System and the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia.

Michael Rovzar, MD

Michael Rovzar

Dr. Michael Rovzar, is President of Paloma Medical Group, CEO at Pacific Private Practice Network, and Managing Partner at Sanctus Health Care. He completed his medical education at the University of California, Irvine, his Residency at The University of Arizona Health Sciences Center and later completed a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care medicine at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine.


William Gustin, MD

William Gustin

Dr. William Gustin, a practicing Internist in Southern California, joined Transtreme in 2014. An expert in electronic medical records, his focus is workflow analyses and implementation of EMR platforms in the inpatient setting. Dr. Gustin trained at UC Irvine, and has served as Chief Resident, Assistant Professor, and Assistant Dean of Instructional Technologies during his time with UCI. His primary interests include simulation, telemedicine, and curricular strategies to improve bedside skills, technique, and rapport. As a Hospitalist, he enjoys direct patient care, while continuing to serve as a consultant on topics such as process improvement, future-state development, and healthcare strategies and innovations.


VJ Espeleta, MD

VJ Espeleta

Dr. VJ Espeleta is a practicing Pulmonologist in Laguna Hills, California and is affiliated with multiple hospital systems in the area, including Mission Hospital and Mission Hospital Laguna Beach as part of the St. Joseph Health System, as well as the Memorial Healthcare System. He received his medical degree from De La Salle University College of Medicine and has been in practice for 15 years.


William Chang, DO

William Chang

Dr. William Chang is a Board Certified Internist at Paloma Medical Group in Orange County, CA. Dr. Chang completed his medical school education at Michigan State University, and his Internal Medicine Residency and a Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Loma Linda University Medical Center. Dr. Chang is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine and is actively involved in novel approaches to enhance the delivery of care to diverse populations of patients, including internationally through telemedicine programs.
